About

Angela Toniolo

Children’s Author

Angela spent the first 20 years of her working career teaching in a secondary school, reporting for the local newspaper, managing a book shop, cooking in a café, and honing her writing by submitting stories to competitions and magazines.

Then, after the joyful arrival of two sons, she rediscovered the magic and power of children’s books as she read them her favourites. She believes that the read-aloud experience helps instil a love of reading and begins a magical interaction with words, pictures, and ideas.

Angela’s stories are funny, informative, and touching. She draws inspiration from family and friends and especially loves tales about extraordinary animals. She aims to create books that help children discover themselves and the world, and shows them that reading is important, and most of all, FUN!

Angela lives at the base of Mt Bogong in Northeast Victoria in the town she was born in, with her partner, two sons, and Belle, the cat. When she’s not writing, she works as an integration aide at the local primary school, plays the drums in the community band, and explores op shops for hidden treasures.
